FEC Client is Finalist for TechPoint Mira Award

Anderson, Ind. — Flagship Enterprise Center client, Comfort Motion Technologies (CMT), was recently selected as a finalist in the "Innovation of the Year" category of the Mira Awards presented by TechPoint. This year's award ceremonies were held at the Westin Hotel in Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday May 16. The Mira Awards identify the most innovative and successful firms in information technology, as well as technology-focused companies in industries like advanced manufacturing, logistics, and the life sciences. CMT has developed new software technology which is used in their Vehicle Seat Multi-Position software that enhances the ergonomic value and function of existing power seat platforms for the transportation industry. Using proven, proprietary research and design based on the biomechanics of the human spine, CMT's software reduces driver fatigue and improves driver comfort. The CMT software automates subtle changes in the seat position, redistributing the occupant's weight while traveling. By automatically redistributing the driver's weight during a drive, CMT's software technology redistributes the stress load and relieves the pain caused by muscle fatigue and compression.

Dr. Paul Phipps, President of CMT, says that being recognized by the Mira Awards is the result of a year's worth of dedication and innovation. "We are tremendously honored to be a finalist for the 2009 Mira Award for Innovation," remarks Phipps. "Our team has worked extremely hard on taking CMT technology to the next level this year, and we are not done yet." Currently, CMT's product is endorsed by the American Chiropractic Association and is the only ergonomic software technology which improves seating comfort for the transportation industry. Al Rowley, Senior Vice President of Marketing, says that the company has begun setting its sights on new areas to market the technology. "CMT is starting to look at expanding applications outside of the automotive industry," he states, "for instance, over the road truck seating, first class seats for the airline industry, and the electric wheel chair market." Rowley continues, "Applications for CMT technology are almost unlimited. Who knows, you may see CMT technology in a Lazy Boy recliner someday." Comfort Motion Technologies (CMT) is in the business of the research, design and development of software that enhances people's lifestyles. CMT has developed a new software package which is used in their Vehicle Seat Multi-Position technology that enhances the ergonomic value and function of existing power seat platforms for the transportation industry. Using proven, proprietary research and design based on the biomechanics of the human spine, CMT's software makes driving safer (with its automatic pause mode feature). Your total driving experience is more comfortable and enjoyable. CMT software does it without changing any of the major vehicle components, including existing power seat platforms.
