FAB! Females Active in Business | MAY 2012
Friday, May 11, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM (ET)
Anderson, IN
Guest Speaker: Kevin Huff| Sales Artists
Topic: “Break the 80/20 Rule”
The 80/20 Rule, as defined by Wikipedia:
The principle was suggested by management thinker Joseph M. Juran. It was named after the Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto, who observed that 80% of income in Italy was received by 20% of the Italian population. The assumption is that most of the results in any situation are determined by a small number of causes.
Do you really know what the 80/20 Rule is? How many times have you heard a Sales Executive or Sales Manager use it as an excuse for why so many salespeople aren’t selling?
The 80/20 Rule implies that 80% of your efforts produces 20% of your results — if this is true, consider that “not good.”
Kevin Huff is a co-founder of Sales Artists, Inc, a small business based in Anderson with a primary focus of providing business leaders and salespeople, workable ways to do what the best-in-class do, to be successful. Kevin has researched and written blogs on the 80/20 Rule and has spoken publicly on the reality and application of the rule. His strong desire to help business leaders lead to the debunking of many misapplications of the 80/20 Rule, including how the ratio actually applies to sales results. Sales Artists, Inc. focuses business leaders on activity that brings results, eschewing activity without accomplishment.
Even if you are not in a sales role with your company, you will find that Kevin is entertaining and his concepts thought provoking.
