Lugar Praises Bright Automotive and AM General Teaming

U.S. Sen. Dick Lugar praised the agreement between Bright Automotive of Anderson, Ind. and AM General of Mishawaka, Ind. to assemble the Bright Idea vehicle at the AM General Mishawaka plant.

“Today’s announced partnership between Bright Automotive and AM General restates what Hoosiers already know:  Indiana is the home of automotive innovation and excellence.  Bright’s progress in rethinking how vehicles can meet our needs shows the promise of how entrepreneurs can create jobs and revitalize Indiana’s automotive future. Vastly expanding fuel efficiency will help break our foreign oil addiction while also saving money for families and businesses.”

Bright Automotive was founded as part of the innovative Flagship Enterprise Center in Anderson, Indiana, where it continues high-tech research and testing.  Lugar has worked closely with leaders at Flagship and Bright for several years in support of the company’s development of the Idea vehicle for civilian and military applications.  Lugar has personally spoke with Secretary of Energy Steven Chu to promote fair and meritorious treatment of Bright and other Indiana companies in their applications for Federal partnerships.
